Flavor Profile Sweet and very juicy; with a smaller size profile. Turns bright yellow with crimson freckling when ripe.
Even when ripe, Forelle pears retain their crispness. They work well in baking, though due to their small size, they are more challenging to work with. They are best eaten out of hand or sliced into salads. The mild, sweet, and slightly spicy flavor pairs well with both dry Rieslings and late-harvest Rieslings, as well as Asiago, Manchego, and Monterey Jack cheeseses.
