Ingredients
- 2 Autumn Glory apples
- 2 sheets of puff pastry
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 1 egg
- Cold water in a bowl (for dipping)
- Ice cream or whip (optional)
Churro seasoning mix
- Cinnamon
- Nutmeg
- Coconut sugar (other sugar can be substituted)
- Pinch of salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract/paste (optional)
Directions
- Slice your apples into circles. Core & soak them in cold water and lemon juice to avoid browning.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- Prepare your churro mix in a bowl by combining the seasoning ingredients.
- Cut the cold puff pastry into ½- to 1-inch strips.
- Pat dry apple rings, then dip each slice in churro mix or sprinkle it on slices.
- Add to parchment-lined tray and wrap each strip around each slice as pictured.
- Lightly brush with egg wash.
- Sprinkle with more churro mix on top.
- Bake for 20 - 30 minutes.
- Let cool, and top with ice cream or whipped cream!
