This apple goat cheese tart with puff pastry is a simple, sweet, and savory recipe made with thinly sliced Autumn Glory® apples, creamy goat cheese, and a drizzle of honey. As the tart bakes, the puff pastry turns golden and flaky while the apples soften and lightly caramelize, creating a balanced combination of crisp, creamy, and sweet flavors. Easy to prepare and ready in minutes, this apple tart works as an appetizer, light dessert, or shareable dish for any occasion.
A simple puff pastry apple tart with sweet apples, tangy goat cheese, and a drizzle of honey for a balanced bite.
Ingredients
- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 2- 3 Autumn Glory apples, cut into thin slices
- Crumbled goat cheese
- Brown or white sugar (or a combo of both)
- Honey
- You’ll also need flour (see below)
*Optional: fresh lemon juice and zest
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
- Roll the pastry out on a lightly floured counter until it’s approximately a 10- or 11-inch square.
- With a fork, prick the pastry all over. Then, score around each side about ¾ inch from the edge (being careful not to cut through).
- Sprinkle crumbled goat cheese inside the border (use as much as desired).
- Next, shingle apple slices across the pastry (inside of scored edges). *If using lemon, add apples and a few splashes of lemon juice to a bowl to coat. Then, shingle onto the tart. Then sprinkle with lemon zest.
- Sprinkle all over with sugar, then bake approx. 15-18 minutes, until puffed up and golden.
- Once done, sprinkle with additional brown sugar and drizzle with honey.
- Cut into squares and enjoy immediately.
