How to Freeze Superfresh Cherries

The next time you are at the grocery store grab an extra bag of cherries and freeze them! Yes, you heard us right, not only are cherries great eating out of hand, in pies and sangrias, they are delicious when frozen. Freezing cherries is also a great way to extend cherry season beyond the few short months they are here!

Below is a step-by-step guide that you can follow to get cherries prepped and perfect for the freezer. Frozen cherries are a must on a hot summer day and they also are perfect for adding to smoothies! 

  1. Thoroughly rinse and dry cherries
  2. Remove pits
  3. Set Cherries in a pan or plate with a space between each, then place in freezer
  4. Once frozen, place in bags or air-proof containers to store or serve
