Pear, Brie & Prosciutto Grilled Cheese with Fig Jam

Skill level: Easy

This prosciutto pear grilled cheese is a gourmet twist on a classic sandwich, made with creamy brie, sweet Bartlett pears, and rich fig jam. The salty prosciutto pairs perfectly with the natural sweetness of the pears and honey, while the arugula adds a fresh, peppery finish. Toasted on sourdough until golden and crisp, this sandwich delivers a balanced combination of textures and flavors. Perfect for lunch or a quick elevated meal, this recipe is simple to make yet full of depth.

A sweet and savory sandwich with pears, honey, arugula, and melted brie cheese.

Ingredients

  • 2 Bartlett pears
  • Prosciutto
  • Fig jam
  • Brie cheese
  • Arugula
  • Sourdough bread
  • Honey

Directions

  1. In a medium pan, fry the prosciutto until slightly crisp. We recommend three slices per sandwich.
  2. In the same pan, add a little butter and toast the sourdough bread for about 1 minute per side.
  3. Spread fig jam on one slice of bread, and place brie slices on the other.
  4. Return the brie-topped bread to the pan, cheese side down, and cook until the cheese has melted and formed a golden, crispy layer.
  5. Remove the cheese-sliced bread from the pan and begin assembling: layer pear slices over the brie, followed by prosciutto, arugula, and a drizzle of honey.
  6. Close the sandwich and return it to the pan over low heat. Toast for about 1 minute per side until warmed through and crisp.
  7. Slice, serve, and enjoy!
