New year, new recipes to try! With this flavorful recipe, you're getting the best of two worlds—a soft, buttery croissant accompanied by our fresh Cosmic Crisp® apples and strips of crispy bacon. Talk about balance. Piling on a savory mustard sauce and a few lettuce leaves makes for a great start to our year.
Ingredients
- 2 organic Cosmic Crisp® apples
- 4 tablespoons mayonnaise (or Greek yogurt)
- 2 tablespoons grainy mustard
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh sage, minced
- 2 teaspoons pure maple syrup
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 6 large croissants, split into halves
- 6 strips of thick-cut bacon, cooked
- 1 small head of Romaine or butter lettuce, washed and patted dry
Directions
- Core and thinly slice organic Cosmic Crisp® apples.
- Combine mayonnaise, grainy mustard, rosemary, sage, maple syrup, garlic, and onion powders.
- Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Spread mustard sauce on each croissant's top and bottom halves.
- Layer the apple slices, bacon, and lettuce on the bottom halves, then place the tops on each sandwich.
- Cut sandwiches in half, if desired, and serve immediately, or cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
