Blueberry Sangria

Skill level: Easy

We truly feel like this is the summer of sangria! This light and refreshing sangria is perfect for a back porch sipping evening. A sweet blueberry simple syrup adds the perfect amount of color and flavor to the white wine, lime, and mint flavors mingling together in this cocktail.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup blueberries, plus extra for garnish
  • ½ cup water
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice, plus extra lime for garnish
  • 1 bottle dry white wine
  • 4 ounces of vodka
  • 10 Fresh Mint Leaves, plus extra for garnish
  • Sparkling water for topping

Directions

  1. Make a simple blueberry syrup by combining blueberries, water, and sugar in a small saucepan and cooking until the blueberries start to burst and the sugar has dissolved. Strain the syrup and chill.
  2. In a large pitcher, combine lime juice, wine, vodka, and blueberry simple syrup and stir to combine.
  3. Take fresh mint and smack it between your hands to release the flavor and add to the sangria. Add extra blueberries and lime wedges to the pitcher and let sit in the fridge for at least 2 hours but up to overnight.
  4. When ready to serve, add extra blueberries, mint, and lime wedges to glasses and pour the sangria over crushed ice. Top off with sparkling water and serve immediately.
