Ice protects fragile buds from sub-freezing temperatures. Pleasant weather this week is helping us make great progress on the farms. Growing degrees for today show us three days ahead of average in the upper valley, and 1 day behind average in the Tri-Cities. Last year on today's date we were at average in the upper valley and 1 day behind average in the Tri-Cities.
