From Orchards to Tables: Meals She Eats Experiences the Magic of Autumn Glory

Fall is a special time of year for anyone growing apples, but for Superfresh Growers, it holds an even deeper meaning thanks to our signature apple that embodies fall, Autumn Glory®. This fall, Superfresh Growers® welcomed Tom and Rachael Sullivan, the husband-and-wife duo behind @MealsSheEats and @RachSullivan__, to the Yakima Valley for an unforgettable hands-on experience during the Autumn Glory apple harvest!

Tom and Rach Sullivan hand-pick Autumn Glory® apples straight from the trees during harvest in the Yakima Valley.

Known for their focus on holistic eating and mindful living, Tom and Rach spent two days exploring the heart of apple county, connecting with growers, and discovering the thoughtful practices behind every crisp bite of Autumn Glory.

Their journey began in the orchard, where they met with Dave Gleason, Horticulturist at Superfresh Growers, to learn how timing, climate, and care all come together to create Autumn Glory's signature flavor of sweet caramel and hint of cinnamon. They joined our team in the fields, tasting freshly picked fruit, and seeing firsthand the passion that goes into every harvest. From pruning, thinning, picking, packing, storage practices, and shipping, this experience was one for the books!

After spending time in the orchards, Tom and Rach joined Superfresh Growers at Provisions Restaurant & Market, for a hands-on cooking class and dinner featuring Autumn Glory apples. The cooking class focused on highlighting Autumn Glory's sweet, natural spiced flavors while following a recipe straight from Tom and Rach's second cookbook, "Honey, What Do We Got?". Following the class, everyone gathered for a multi-course dinner that showcased Autumn Glory in both sweet and savory ways, alongside Superfresh Growers' pears. Each dish was a reminder of how versatile and nutrient-dense our fruits can be for any occasion. The evening brought together community members, other regional growers, food lovers from out of town, and individuals who have been following Tom and Rach's journey with PCOS.

For Tom and Rach, the experience was about connecting with the people behind the food and seeing the care that goes into every step, from orchard to table. For the Superfresh Growers team, it was an opportunity to share the story of Autumn Glory with people who value real food and meaningful experiences.

As harvest season winds down, we’re reminded that behind every apple is a team of people who make it possible, and moments like this one make all the hard work worth it!
