Cultivating Future Marketers: Superfresh Growers Mentors Students in Marketing Competition

At Superfresh Growers, we believe in nurturing the next generation of innovative minds. Recently, we had the privilege of mentoring a group of talented kids through the Cultural Communications Alliance's partnership with the University of Pittsburgh's Katz Graduate School of Business. This collaboration led to an exciting marketing competition with a unique goal: to mentor the five participating high schools and develop valuable marketing and critical thinking skills while marketing our proprietary apple, Autumn Glory®, in the Vietnamese market.

Our journey with these young marketers was nothing short of inspiring. We embarked on a mission to not only promote a fantastic product but also to instill valuable marketing skills and foster creativity. The Cultural Communications Alliance provided a platform for these young minds to thrive, and we were honored to play a part in their growth. Throughout the competition, we guided the participants in understanding the nuances of marketing in a global context. We delved into market research, logistics, social responsibility, and creative branding strategies. Together, we explored the rich flavors and unique qualities of Autumn Glory apples, and they then created compelling narratives that resonated with Vietnamese customers.

Not in order: Avonworth High School, Mt. Lebanon High School, Pine-Richland High School, Pittsburgh CAPA High School, and Upper St. Clair High School.

One of the most rewarding aspects of this experience was witnessing the passion and dedication of these kids. They immersed themselves in their project, brainstorming innovative ideas and developing comprehensive marketing plans. From social media coverage to immersive storytelling techniques, they left no stone unturned in their mission to showcase Autumn Glory apples in the best light possible.

As mentors, we shared our expertise and learned valuable lessons from these young minds. Their fresh perspectives and boundless creativity challenged us to think outside the box and push the boundaries of traditional marketing strategies. It was a collaborative journey fueled by curiosity and enthusiasm.

While competition was fierce, the real victory was witnessing the growth and development of these young marketers. They embraced challenges, honed their skills, and emerged as confident professionals ready to make their mark in the industry. As Superfresh Growers, we couldn't be more proud of their accomplishments, and we look forward to seeing their continual success.
