Apple harvest continues across eastern Washington, with crews picking Granny Smith and Fuji as we move through our late-season varieties. Some Pink Lady® apples have also been harvested, bringing us closer to wrapping up the season.
As harvest finishes in each block, the trees begin preparing for winter rest. Nutrients move from the leaves back into the trees to be stored for future growth, and the leaves begin changing color. It’s a quieter time in the harvested orchards, but an important part of the cycle that supports next season’s crop.
