Summerfruit Varieties
Summerfruit
Summer was never complete without a couple of days of helping grandma can peaches. Scalding, peeling, cutting out the pit hoping it would come out cleanly. Sure, it was hard hot work, but you did it knowing that the sweet rewards were worth the effort. Of course there were always one or two slices that never made it to the canning jars. Who could let an opportunity to enjoy a sweet, freshly peeled peach pass you by! Nowadays peaches may come in different colors (white flesh) and shapes (doughnut), but they're still the best way to enjoy summer. We don't call them summer fruit for nothing. Peaches, apricots, nectarines...remember what summer's all about with world-famous tree-ripened Washington Summerfresh fruit.
